Description | Repair and replacement work generally include removing existing, damaged guardrail barriers and replacing with a new guardrail barrier including end sections, railing, posts, blocks, and reflective tabs. New barriers shall be replaced like-for-like when possible or according to the latest FDOT standards. Total linear feet of guardrail to be replaced is 2,969.5 LFT. This total guardrail length is divided along various County Roads among the five County Commission Districts: 1. District 1 431 ft. 2. District 2 1,086 ft. 3. District 3 96 ft. 4. District 4 1,062 ft. 5. District 5 294.5 ft. The deadline for receipt of questions will be 8/19/2022. Questions must be submitted in writing to Nicole Bradley, Procurement Officer (email: bradleyn@jacksoncountyfl.gov). A Bid Bond payable to Jackson County for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid shall be filed with the proposal. The Bid Bond to be prepared on the forms specified and signed by a Bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Florida. A Performance Bond in the amount of 100% and a Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of 100% will be required of the successful Bidder. All contractors and their subcontractors shall have adequate references showing performance of this type of work. Bidders may be required to submit detailed information regarding the staff that they propose for this project. The Contractor shall be capable of meeting all the requirements of the specifications at the time of the bid. Bidders shall be contractors who are normally engaged in construction and shall be licensed as may be required under existing Federal, State, and County laws. Only bids from qualified Contractors will be considered. No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after scheduled time for the receipt of bids.
