Miller Road Sewage Pumping Station Expansion - Contract No. 4 - Force Main

As of December 5, 2022, outfall line construction has started, however, the station itself has not due to supply issues. In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to, furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required for the expansion of the existing 800 gallon-per-minute (gpm) buried, packaged pumping station to a 1735 gpm submersible sewage pumping station and install approximately 9,300 LF of 12" force main in parallel to the existing 10" force main. Work includes the installation of three (3) submersible sewage pumps, piping and appurtenances, control system, variable speed pump motor controllers, new channel grinder, a 12-ft x 12-ft precast wet well, precast concrete valve vault and meter pit, temporary electrical connections, a new electrical service entrance, construction of a 22' x 23' masonry building to house electrical gear and a 250 kw emergency generator, HVAC equipment, precast manhole structures and yard piping, site paving, fencing, and grading; demolition of all existing pumping station facilities, and the maintenance of sanitary sewer flows. Four contracts will be issued for the project: General, Electrical, HVAC, and Force Main. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 4/8/2022 11:00 AM BID TYPE Fixed Fee Contract Contract No. 4 - Force Main Location: The project site is located in West Donegal Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, within and along the roadways of Miller Road, Bainbridge Road (S.R. 2001), and Amosite Road from the existing Miller Road pumping station to the Elizabethtown Sewage Treatment Plant. Description of Work: In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to, furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required to construct a 12-inch diameter force main in parallel to the existing 10-inch sewage force main. Work will include tying the existing force main in with the proposed 12-inch line; polyethylene wrapping as necessary to provide external corrosion resistance of the force main; excavation and steel casing as it pertains to the placement of the 12-inch force main; installation of air release valves and vaults; site restoration; testing of the new 12-inch force main, and the maintenance of sanitary sewer flows. *Information regarding subcontractor bidding has not been disclosed to the content management team at this time.
