Description | Estimated project cost is $700,000 for all four schools. Genesee Intermediate School District (also referred to as the District or GISD in these documents) will accept sealed proposals for "Playground Improvements", described in the specifications and shown by the accompanying drawings. Proposals will be accepted by mail or in-person drop off to the Erwin L. Davis Building, 2413 W. Maple Avenue. Proposals shall be submitted in DUPLICATE and shall be in a sealed opaque envelope and hand delivered or mailed to: Genesee Intermediate School District Attn: Cynthia McCain 2413 West Maple Avenue Flint, MI 48507-3493 and marked on the outside with the bidder's name, name of project (Playground Improvements), and due date/time. Proposals will be opened and read aloud immediately after the closing time. All interested parties are invited to attend. The District will not open, consider or accept a bid received after the date and time specified for bid submission. No oral, telephonic or telegraphic proposals shall be considered. Proposal shall state price in both writing and figures, shall be signed personally by the bidder and by a partner or by a duly authorized officer for the corporation and shall give the bidder's business address. A Bid Bond of certified check in the amount of f the bid amount must accompany all bids in excess of $25,288. All bids shall be firm for at least sixty (60) days from the date of opening of bids. Length of time required for completion shall be specified in the bid. All bids submitted must meet or exceed all specifications herein. Successful bidder shall be required to furnish proof of Workman's Compensation Insurance. On bid in excess of $50,000, accepted bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond. Each bond shall be at 100% of the accepted bid. All bonds are at the expense of the bidder. Bonds shall be executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Michigan and be listed in the current Federal Register or have an A.M. Best Rating of B+ or better. Bids shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between GISD or any employee of the bidder and any member of the school board, or the Superintendent of the school district. Bids shall also be accompanied by statement disclosing whether the bidder is an Iran Linked Business in compliance with PA 517 of 2012. Additionally, bids shall be accompanied by a school safety affidavit. All bidders are required to perform the work under a prevailing wage contract. Bids that do not include these statements and a sworn and notarized familial relationship statement will not be accepted. In addition, bidders are encouraged to visit the site to review the existing conditions prior to submitting a bid. If visiting, bidders shall contact Jeffrey Jansen, Genesee Intermediate School District, 810-275-3541, to coordinate a date and time. The bidder shall remain outside at all times unless otherwise coordinated with GISD. Bidders shall follow all District's Coronavirus protocols upon arrival. The District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in whole or in part; or, for reasons of establishing uniformity, delivery time or preference, to award the contract to other than the low bidder. The contents of the RFP and the Bidder's (also referred to as Contractor in these documents) Proposal will become contractual obligations, if a contract ensues. Failure of the Bidder to accept these obligations will result in cancellation of the award. Award of a contract by the District is subject to the Contractor executing a Contract, which shall incorporate the contents of this RFP and the Contractor's Proposal and final approval if the same by the District's legal counsel. At the time of public bid opening all bidders are required to provide a list of allsubcontractors. Failure to specify subcontractors on bid documents will result in an incomplete bid. GISD reserves the right to reject bids based upon subcontractors specified by bidder. Contractor must notify GISD of any changes in subcontractors. No changes can be made in subcontractors from the approved list without the permission of GISD. Failure to do so will constitute grounds for termination of the contract. |
