OTT - Lake Ottawa Recreation Area Water Line Reroute

The project consists of installing approximately 85 LF of new 3” HDPE, 14 LF of new 2” Copper, 8 LF of new ½” Copper, new 2” Water Meter, new 3” Gate Valve and Box and various valves and fittings of potable water line at the Lake Ottawa Recreation Area as per the attached drawings. Work will also include excavating and locating the existing buried HDPE waterlines and other utilities within the project area to verify their location, elevation and orientation, flushing and pressure testing the new potable water and chlorinating, sampling and bacteriological testing of the entire water system. It is required that the Contractor provide and install a safe, secure, complete, turn-key, operational, leak free potable water line of the highest quality of workmanship. All removed materials shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be properly disposed of off of Government property. Contractor shall pay Davis-Bacon prevailing wages for Iron County for all work performed on site. The USFS will coordinate this project with the State of Michigan and acquire a permit if required. Contractor shall contact MISSDIG 811 by dialing 811 or 800-482-7171 or submitting an e-ticket online prior to excavating to verify the location or absence of any buried public utilities.
