Description | Work consists of the furnishing of all supplies, materials and labor to rehabilitate the existing Administration Building. Work includes demolition of the upper floor of the building and all mechanical electrical and plumbing. Rehabilitation of the ground floor for an education and conference space and reconstruction of the upper floors for administrative space, replicating the historic workshop that was destroyed by fire. The project also includes a new addition at the west side containing storage, restroom, a kitchenette, entry porch and office space above. Work includes new concrete footings and foundations, all new framing and finishes at the upper floors, new and restored windows, new doors throughout. Interior finishes include wood and tile flooring, restored plaster and new GWB; exterior finishes include limited stone masonry repointing, new stucco, cedar wall shakes. Roofing includes asphalt shingles, membrane roofing and standing seam metal. All new mechanical, electrical and plumbing throughout. Site work including new concrete landings, a barrier free ramp, ADA parking and site drainage. Work includes specialized historic restoration work of historic wood windows, plaster and stone masonry. Alternates include the following: Alternate #1- A new polished concrete slab at the ground floor with under slab drainage and electric radiant heat. Alternate #2 Fit out of the second-floor office and archive space including all finishes, lighting and archival environmental controls. Alternate #3 Underground electric service to the building. Craftsman Farms, the home of Gustav Stickley, is listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places and is a National Historic Landmark. All work is required to meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and is subject to review through the Morris County Historic Preservation Program. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
