Description | This project repairs the central cooling plant servicing the 16th Air Force Headquarters Building. The repairs include replacing two inoperable 485-ton chillers, two 500-ton chillers that are at the end of their service life, and the control system for the plant to include but not limited to all pumps, chillers, monitoring/metering devices, etc. This would also include replacing the chilled water distribution piping and pumps, metering devices, motor control centers, electrical support infrastructure, and all associated controls. Lastly, three cooling towers and the associated pump system, three boilers and ancillaries, and hot and chilled as well as steam piping systems to each mechanical room shall also be replaced. The design for the repair of the interior HVAC system for B2000 will be completed under a separate project. Under this contract, modifications to interior HVAC systems will be included to the extent of maintaining building heating while the central plant systems convert from steam to hot water production. Design under this project to upgrade and renovate the B2000 Chiller Plant will ensure sufficient cooling capacity to support intended upgrades and the heat load for B2000 with current and known future occupants. This project includes a full inspection and audit of interior systems. Temporary chiller and domestic hot water systems are provided and coordinated with architectural site plans. The temporary systems are indicated on plan to remain on site until switchover to the final equipment occurs. |
