Description

The services to be provided will include, but not be limited to, advice to and consultation with the Rail Division on engineering services for the following disciplines: railroad track and rights of way, facilities, signals, communications, environmental, geotechnical or geoseismic and safety issues. In addition, consultant services will be required on matters of general design, construction, planning, maintenance, economic analysis, asset management planning and program management issues. Thus, these services will range from providing oversight of the rehabilitation and maintenance of stateowned rail rights of way to assisting with state and federal rail grant programs including the Industrial Rail Access Program (IRAP) and the Federal Highway Railway Grade Crossing Program (Section 130). The ability to secure these services with minimum notice or, a variety of short-term, time-sensitive situations is extremely important.
