Description

There are 52 bus stops within the City of Springfield. These bus stops must have snow removed to the pavement in an approximate 6 by 14 area. The area of snow clearing is approximate because the work is intended to provide safe access from the sidewalk to the curb. Shoveled snow is to remain on site in the surrounding area. Bus stop snow removal shall commence after 24 hours of 3 inches or more of snow. PVTA will notify contractor to proceed with snow removal. At the end of the snow fall the Contractor will also be responsible for sanding and salting the area. All Snow Removal Equipment/implements Shall Be Used in a Manner That Will Not Impact Pvta Bus Arrivals. Snow May Be Stored Within the Confines of the Bus Stop as Long as Does Not Impact the Safe Passage From the Sidewalk to the Pvta Vehicle. No Snow Removal From the Bus Stop is Anticipated at This Time. Should Pvta Require Snow Removal, It Will Be Paid for as a Separate Item. The Contractor Shall Be Responsible for the Safety of All Employees During the Work, This Shall Include but Not Be Limited to Providing and Maintain Any Safety Equipment or Protective Clothing Required to Protect Employees From Injury or Harm. All Work Shall Be Performed Without Impacting Ongoing Pvta Business Activities. The Contractor Shall Provide a Telephone Number at Which the Pvta May Contact the Contractor on a Twenty-four (24) Hour, Seven Day (7) a Week Basis. A contract award will be made within five (5) business days from the bid due date. PVTA reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
