Description | The Project consists of: This project consists of the removal of all existing paint in the first floor portion of the front facade, preparing to paint, and painting with primer and paint. Items to be stripped and repainted are all doors, door trims, frame and moldings, windows, window frames and moldings, baseboards, trims and clapboard siding throughout the front facade work area at first floor Work hours will be 8:30am to 4:30pm.. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A(2)(B) and to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 26 to 27H inclusive Bid Deposit - Not required. Plan deposits may be electronically paid or by check. This deposit will be refunded upon return of the sets in good condition within thirty (30) days of receipt of general bids. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of the Awarding Authority. Pursuant to his/her obligations under the preceding section, the Contractor shall strive to achieve on this project the labor participation goals contained herein. The participation goals for this project shall be 15.3% for minorities and 6.9% for women. TIME OF COMPLETION A. In accordance with Article 5 of the General Conditions, the Work shall start as stated in the Notice to Proceed and shall be completed within 60 consecutive calendar days. SANCTIONS A. For each week that the Contractor fails or refuses to comply, the Department may recover from the Contractor, 1/100 of 1% of the original Contract Sum or $1000 whichever sum is greater, in the nature of liquidated damages. B. If a Subcontractor is in non-compliance, the Department may recover from the Contractor, 1/10 of 1% of the Subcontract Sum, or $400 whichever sum is greater, in the nature of liquidated damages, to be assessed by the Contractor as a back charge against the Subcontractor for each week that Subcontractor fails or refuses to comply. |
