Description

Firms/individuals qualified in wetland creation and enchantment activities to 194 acres of habitat within a 393-acre parcel of land located between MacDill Air Force Base (AFB) and Picnic Island Park in Hillsborough County. Work to be conducted at the site will consist of upland scrape down of historically impacted for the creation of tidal wetlands, open water habitats, removal of an extensive network of spoil piles impacting the hydrology of the existing mangrove and saltern habitats, filling of mosquito ditches, removal of exotic vegetation, and enhancement of selected existing ditches to improve wetland hydrology, water quality and wildlife utilization. Habitat creation includes, but is not limited to, excavation and grading of uplands and planting of various species of vegetation and the construction of hydraulic features as described in the Construction Drawings.
