Description | The Contractor shall provide construction services for the roof replacement. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse (MLK Courthouse) is part of the “Federal Campus” in Newark, NJ, and fronts Walnut Street. Construction of the five story building was completed in 1992. The roofing system is a combination of low slope and steep slope systems. The existing low slope roofing system is a gravel surfaced built-up roof system which was installed in approximately 2001. The steep slope roof systems are standing seam metal roof systems. Additionally, a significant amount of mechanical equipment, duct work, electrical equipment, conduit, roof drains, lightning protection components, penthouse skylights, security cameras and equipment, bird control netting, and other building systems are located on the roof. | ||
