Description | **As of December 6, 2022, No award has been made. Not enough bids received. No definite date for the rebid.** Catawba County is soliciting proposals, on behalf of Western Piedmont Council of Governments, for General Contractors to provide one (1) home rehabilitation. Catawba County has received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Scattered Site Housing Project to rehabilitate homes. The house to be rehabilitated pursuant to this RFP is located on W. Pine Street, Maiden, North Carolina 28650. This job consists of roofing, new windows, vinyl siding, termite damage repair to the foundation, (2) interior doors, HVAC systems, insulation, deck repair/replacement, electrical work, plumbing work, floor covering installation, interior painting, kitchen appliances, pest control, as well as other carpentry work. Bidders must have a NC Contractors License since the bid proposals will range from $30,000 up to $72,000. In addition, Bidder must be a Renovate Right to Repair (RRP) Lead Certified Contractor with the state of NC due to the fact that the job contains some lead base paint abatement work. ou are not responsible for the abatement of the lead based paint. A Lead Based Paint Abatement Contractor is being procured separately. This job will have to be coordinated with the abatement contractor. You must use licensed sub-contractors and be responsible for their work. This program only contracts with General Contractors and not Sub-Contractors. All bidders are notified that Catawba County has a verifiable five percent (5%) goal for participation by minority owned and women owned businesses in the total value of Work for which prime contractors are awarded pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes.
