Description | As of June 29, 2023, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline or award has not yet been established. The Project consists of the following major items: 1. 125 LF of 8-inch water main 2. 6,300 LF of 6-inch water main 3. 250 LF of 4-inch water main 4. 69 LF of 12-inch steel encasement pipe with 6-inch PVC water main by Dry Bore & Jack 5. 267 LF of 6-inch horizontal directional drill 6. 257 LF of 4-inch DI water main by Free Bore & Jack 7. James Bunn Road Well a. Site work b. 100 gpm well pump installed in existing well c. Water treatment building (40 ft x 15 ft) d. Chemical feed equipment e. Radionuclides water treatment equipment (4 Vessel pairs) f. Add Alternate No. 1, Radium Treatment (6 Vessel pairs) 8. Wollett Mill Road Well a. Site work b. Chemical feed equipment c. 180 gpm well pump installed in existing well d. Water treatment building (52 ft x 20 ft) e. Iron, Manganese & Radionuclides water treatment equipment f. Add Alternate No. 2, well Liner 9. Shepherd's Way Well a. Site Work b. 90 gpm well pump installed to replace existing well pump. c. Prefab building for liquid ammonia feed. With a request for Bidding Documents supply the following information: o Company name, contact person with email, street address, and phone numbers; N. C. contractor's license with limitation and classification; indicate if the firm will be a Bidder, Supplier or Sub-Contractor. - Non-Refundable Fee for the Bidding Documents o Access to Website Download of PDF: Registration and access to the Issuing Office Project Bidding site for Electronic download of Bidding Documents as PDF files for a fee in the amount of $50.00. This does not include printed copies. o Access to Website and Printed Copies: Bidding Documents, including full size Drawings, will be shipped to the Bidder for a fee in the amount of $400.00. The Bidding Documents will be shipped UPS ground. This fee will include registration and access to the Issuing Office Project Bidding site for electronic download of Bidding Documents as PDF Files. Partial sets of Bidding Documents and CAD files will not be available from the Issuing Office. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website. Bidders will be required to show evidence that they are licensed to perform the work in the Bidding Documents as required by North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 87 and the Instructions to Bidders. Bid Security in the amount of five (5) percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid and shall be subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages bidding by small, minority and female contractors and does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status. Bids from qualified disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) are encouraged. Nash County has a goal of 10 percent (10%) for MBE/WBE. Bidders shall be required to submit with their Bids affidavits of "Good Faith Efforts" in the recruitment of Minority Businesses. Any contract awarded under this Advertisement for Bids is expected to be funded in part by a loan or grant from the State of North Carolina. Neither the State or Federal Government nor any of their departments, agencies, or employees is or will be a party to this Advertisement for Bids or any resulting Contract. This procurement will be subject to State regulations. After Bids are opened, the Owner shall evaluate them in accordance with the methods and criteria set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all Bids. Unless all Bids are rejected, Award will be made to the lowest responsible Bidder, taking into consideration quality, performance and the time specified in the proposals for the performance of the Contract Questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing.
