DMMA Sand Excavation and Beach Placement

The vibratory screening and excavation of approximately 55,000 cubic yards of stockpiled material from the District's Dredge Material Management Area (DMMA) facility located in Sebastian Inlet State Park (PARK) on the northern side of Sebastian Inlet. The material is composed of a mix of both beach-compatible and non-beach compatible material (silts, rock and cobble). The Construction Plans delineate areas of the stockpiled material within the DMMA that require vibratory screening for rock and cobble prior to beach placement. The Construction Plans also delineate an area of non-beach-compatible silty/fine sand which is to be excavated and disposed of in an appropriate and legal manner offsite by CONTRACTOR. Non-beach-compatible rock and cobble materials are to be stockpiled outside the DMMA in a proximal location approved by the PARK. Excavated material will be placed on the beach as a dune feature south of the inlet in Indian River County between FDEP monuments R-8 and R-17
