Description

The 500-mile restriction will be verified by using the website https://www.freemaptools.com/radius-around-point.htm and verifying the distance from the firm s primary or satellite office location, from which most of the design services will be performed, to the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center campus. 3. DESCRIPTION: The Jesse Brown VA Medical Center consists of a 200-bed acute care facility and four Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). The Jesse Brown VA Medical Center provides care to approximately 62,000 enrolled veterans who reside in the City of Chicago and Cook County, Illinois, and in four counties in northwestern Indiana. The medical center admits more than 8,000 inpatients and serves more than 500,000 outpatients visits annually. For Project Number 537-20-107, Upgrade BAS/HVAC for Bed Tower Procedure Room, the Architect / Engineer shall provide Professional Services for the design of upgrading the Bed Tower Procedure Room, Cardiology, and Urology to be used as alternate operating rooms. The A/E shall prepare fully developed Construction Documents (drawings and specifications), construction phasing (scheduling), cost estimates, and submittal lists. The A/E shall be responsible for conducting site visits to gather data, investigating, and documenting exiting conditions. Perform such investigations as required to accurately verify all existing conditions. A/E shall ensure the existing suites meet the VA Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical Design Manuals for the existing space use and type. The goal of this project is for the A/E to deliver design to correct any HVAC deficiencies and then upgrade the existing Bed Tower Procedure Room / Suite located on the 1FL Bed Tower, existing Cardiology Room /Suite located in 5FL Building 1 and Urology Suite 1FL Building 30 to be used as alternate surgical procedure rooms when the main operating rooms are not available because of service and maintenance. The completed design shall include all necessary features and items of work required for completely buildable and functional procedure rooms. All work shall comply with the latest requirements of the Department of Veteran Affairs design criteria and all applicable national codes and standards.
