Description

This project is being let using the single prime bidding and contracting process. DFD will publicly bid the applicable mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) divisions of work first. Within 5 days of the MEP bid opening, DFD will identify a lowest, qualified, responsible, certified bidder in each applicable MEP division of work. These successful MEP bids must be included in all general prime contractor bids received. No later than 5 days after DFD identifies the successful MEP bids, DFD will publicly open general prime contractor bids. General prime contractor bids that do not include the successful MEP bids will be rejected. The state will enter into a single contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified general prime contractor and this general prime contractor will enter into subcontracts with the successful MEP biddersIn general, the work consists of: the renovation, repairs, and restoration of exterior envelope of the historic Multicultural Center building on the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh campus. Restoration work includes the roof replacement, window and door restorations, siding repairs, and recreation of lost historic elements. A replacement ADA access ramps will be provided to to meet current accessibility requirements and better historic compatible appearances. Interior renovations will also provide an ADA restroom. The Multicultural Education Center is a 2 1/2 story, 6710 square foot, wood framed house of finished and unfinished spaces, currently utilized for office and meeting rooms. The roof is approximately 2,845 square feet, currently covered with asphalt shingles at the sloped areas and membrane at the flat roof areas. The façade consists of 5000 square feet of wood siding and trim. There is approximately 1,200 square feet of window and door openings. Base Bid will be received for: A single lump sum bid for All Work. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted. Contract offer and construction phase records will be processed electronically on the WisBuild tm DFD Information System. Construction Limits are indicated on the drawings. In the absence of such a designation on the drawings, confine work to the minimum area reasonably necessary to undertake the work as determined by the DFD Project Representative. In no case shall construction activities extend beyond state property lines or construction easements. The Contractor shall restore all disturbed areas in accordance with the drawings and specifications. If drawings and specifications do not address restoration of specific areas, these areas will be restored to pre52 construction conditions as approved by the DFD Project Representative
