Description | Parks Recreation and Marine (PRM) is requesting proposals from contractors to modify exterior freestanding restroom doors citywide. This will include installing a magnetic locking system with a timer and push-button egress device mounted on the restrooms interior wall. The City reserves the right to modify these dates at any time, with appropriate notice to prospective Contractors. Question Deadline 05/10/2023 at 11:00 AM PT The City of Long Beach, Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to replace existing exterior restroom doors with a more heavy-duty design and a magnetic door locking system. Official Contact Amy NhoungCarrie Sinohui rfppurchasing@longbeach.gov The contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, and supervision to successfully remove and replace or modify current exterior restroom doors. We currently have two different types of exterior doors that consist of a metal or jail house style door. If current metal restroom door is in good and undamaged condition, the contractor shall install a vandal proof box to protect the padlock and door latch. If door is determined to be in poor condition, the contractor shall remove and replace with a 1/8" thick metal door to include a door closure, vandal proof box to protect the padlock and door latch. If restroom door consists of a jail house style, the contractor shall install an exterior 1/8" thick metal barrier to include a vandal proof box to protect the padlock and door latch. Every freestanding building will also have a low voltage magnetic door locking system with a timer and push-button egress device mounted on the interior surface of the restroom. All electrical conductors shall be protected in conduit and installed in such a manner restricting access to the public or unauthorized persons. - The power source (Assa Abloy BPS-24-4, DT-7 digital timer) shall be installed in the plumbing chase or a secured enclosure, if a plumbing chase is not available; - Each power source shall have a dedicated circuit installed; - Each power source shall have an emergency override power off switch; - Each restroom door shall have an American Lock Series A700 padlock welded on a 3/8" thick chain; - Exterior doors and hardware shall be installed per specifications attached in this RFP; and - Replacement doors shall be painted Vista Paint color Shutter Green |
