Longitudinal Peaked Stone Toe Protection (LPSTP) can be used to stabilize the sites. The Duck Creek erosion site is 400 ft in length. For the 400 ft length, approximately 0.85 ton per linear foot will be used with 5-keys tying the windrow of LPSTP into the bank to prevent flanking and in total, using ~ 400 ton of RR-5. There are some trees that will be required to be removed, boxelder and some mulberry in the stream corridor. In addition, waste trees that are in good shape can be an added ecological feature to the LPSTP windrow, especially the key areas by placing them within the riprap windrow and burying them below the channel-side water surface. |
