Description | The proposed sanitary sewer interceptor will be constructed in two phases; the first phase (base bid) extends from Rocky River Road up to Wolf Meadow Creek and the second phase (bid alternate) extends from Wolf Meadow Creek to approximately Coddle Creek Drive SW. In total the two phases will consist of approximately 39 LF of 60" fiberglass pipe, 39 LF of 54" fiberglass pipe, 20,013 LF of 48" fiberglass and ductile iron pipe, 7,943 LF of 36" fiberglass and ductile iron pipe, 1,395 LF of 30" fiberglass and ductile iron pipe, three cast-in-place concrete diversion structures, 11 manholes with 5' diameter base and 5' diameter riser structure, 30 manholes with 6' diameter base and 5' diameter riser structure, 73 manholes with 7' diameter base and 5' diameter riser structure, one manhole with 8' diameter base and 5' diameter riser structure, three manholes with 10' diameter base and 5' diameter riser structure, one trenchless crossing at Roberta Road (SR-1304), and 21 sanitary sewer stream crossings. The project also includes miscellaneous rehabilitation of the existing sanitary sewer system including 1,898 LF of CIPP and miscellaneous manhole rehabilitation. All Subcontractors must also be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina. Bids will be received on a unit price basis. Bid security in an amount of 5 percent of the Bidder's maximum Bid must accompany each Bid. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Performance Bond and a Construction Payment Bond as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract. Contractor and all Subcontractors will be required to conform to the labor standards employment requirements set forth in the Contract Documents. The Bidder is required to make a good faith effort to meet a 10 percent goal for minority business participation in the total value of Work in accordance with State G.S. 143-128.2. The Bidder shall identify efforts made in this regard and list minority business enterprises that will be used on the project as required in the Bidding Documents. If the Contract is to be awarded, Owner will give the Successful Bidder a Notice of Award within the number of days set forth in the Bid Form for acceptance of the Bid. Project Description a) Phase 1 (Base Bid) i) Sewer rehabilitation (CIPP, new manholes, manhole lining) ii) Approximately 20,619 LF of new 48" pipeline, paralleling existing sewer, with three (3) diversion structures iii) Connections to existing North Carolina Railroad (NCRR) and NCDOT sewer crossings. Existing crossings consist of manholes each side of right-of-way with tunnel liner plates of varying diameter and 48" carrier pipe. (1) Carrier pipe is full of water, so will be necessary to pump them out iv) All permanent and temporary easements have been acquired b) Phase 2 (Bid Alternate) i) Approximately 7,812 LF of new 36" pipeline, paralleling existing sewer, with one (1) diversion structure ii) One trenchless crossing at Roberta Road iii) Limited easements acquired Estimated Notice to Proceed: April 2024 Construction Duration: 730 calendar days i) Substantial Completion: 700 calendar days ii) Liquidated Damages: $2,000 per day |
