Description

History Colorado (HC) is taking action to reduce the risk of wildfire loss to railroad infrastructure within the Georgetown Loop Historic Mining and Railroad Park located between Georgetown and Silver Plume, Colorado three phases of fuels mitigation efforts have been completed at the Park, and this scope of work will be a continuation of those previous efforts. Some spot treatment and maintenance activities in previously treated areas will be conducted, but the primary focus will be on Area C. Nearly all of the 324- acre area occurs on slopes greater than 30%, and because of the difficulty in safely removing downed trees from these slopes, cut fuels will be lopped and scattered within18 in. of the surface.
