Description

The Village of Sidney has been affected by devastating flooding in 2006 and by Tropical Storm Lee in 2011 and is committed to relocate residents in its highest risk areas and restore and enhance its floodplain using state of the art natural mitigation and green infrastructure measures. The Village of Sidney is seeking qualifications from experienced resilience designers who are creative and qualified landscape architects or engineers licensed to work in New York State. A qualified firm will have ability in planning, designing, determining feasibility of and overseeing construction of resilience measures and finding visionary strategies for climate adaptation. Respondents should be skilled team leaders since it is expected that they will subcontract with other firms for specialized services and manage the work of other contractors. The selected designer will implement current initiatives and help the Village to plan and design other mitigation projects. One or more resilience designer may be selected. A separate procurement will be released for Consulting Planner/Community Developer and for a Consulting Engineer. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Total MWBE Participation Goals: 30% Contract term: five year contract with option to extend for three years The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
