Contract Mowing and Trimming of Median/Curbed Roadways with Litter Pickup

The purpose of controlling growth on grassed areas. It is recognized and understood that the prime purpose of grassed areas is to control erosion, and secondly, to provide a stabilized vehicle recovery area. The Contractor is, therefore, responsible for proper procedures to assure the grassed recovery areas are not jeopardized by his activities. The Director of Road Maintenance shall be the sole judge of when the mowings/trimmings are to be performed. Also, any one or more scheduled mowings/trimmings may be deleted if growth fails to reach the point where mowing/trimming is needed. All work will be approved by the Director of Road Maintenance before payment is released to the Contractor. It is the County’s intent to mow the full width of the right of ways.
