Description

For Concrete Curbs and Sidewalks The St. Johns County School District is requesting bid pricing for the furnishing and installing of concrete curbs and sidewalks from qualified Contractors, registered and licensed in the state of Florida. Bid Bond None ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS/RESPONDENTS ARE HEREBY CAUTIONED NOT TO CONTACT ANY MEMBER OF THE ST. JOHN'S COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT STAFF OR OFFICIALS OTHER THAN THE SPECIFIED CONTACT PERSON. M/WBE's are encouraged to participate in the bid process. Question Deadline 03/15/2023 at 12:00 PM ET An authorized SJCSD representative will provide the Contractor details regarding the project and a required completion date. The Contractor may be required to attend a prequote site visit at the SJCSD representative's request, and will be required to provide a quote based on pricing submitted with the Bid. Quote pricing shall include all labor, equipment, transportation, overhead and materials. Scope The bid is for the furnishing and installing of concrete curbs and sidewalks from qualified Contractors, registered and licensed in the state of Florida. All work shall be completed pursuant to all Florida Department of Transportation requirements, and any applicable codes, including federal OSHA, state, local and Florida Department of Education recommendations. The Contractor must submit in accordance with the requirements of the Florida Department of Transportation found at: www.fdot.gov/design/standardplans 6.2 The Contractor shall supply at its own expense, all supervision, labor, equipment, machines, tools, materials, transportation, incidentals and related items necessary to complete the work in accordance with this Bid. All expenses shall be included in the unit cost listed on the Bid Sheet. No additional charges shall be accepted. 6.3 The Contractor shall provide sufficient staff, resources and facilities to ensure that SJCSD business is handled in a timely manner. Unless otherwise addressed in a project scope of work, the Contractor shall not store any equipment, material, product or tools on school board property. 6.4 All work shall be performed in accordance with a mutually agreed upon schedule with an authorized SJCSD representative. Services may be required to be performed before or after school hours. If work is performed outside of school hours SJCSD will not be charged any additional fees for such work. 6.5 The Contractor shall be responsible of notifying SJCSD in writing of any conditions detrimental to proper and timely completion of work. Contractor shall not proceed with work until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected in a manner acceptable to SJCSD. 6.6 The Contractor shall be held responsible for the on-site supervision, scheduling, receiving and placement of materials. If Contractor requires subcontractor labor, SJCSD shall be notified of this requirement. Under no condition shall work specified be subcontracted, without prior SJCSD approval. Work shall be performed by qualified and trained service personnel that are directly employed by Contractor. All employees assigned by the Contractor, including subcontract labor, to perform work under this contract shall meet all bid requirements and standards to perform the work assigned as specified. 6.7 Concrete used shall be a minimum of 3,000 PSI, as set forth in FDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. 6.8 Concrete Installations shall include all labor and material to complete operation, including preparation, forming and striping, placement and finishing of concrete. Clean work area and disposal of all debris. 6.9 The Contractor shall provide fill as required and shall bill SJCSD for material only, plus the percentage markup. All other materials, labor, tools and equipment shall be included in the pricing as bid. All labor necessary for grading, filling and compacting shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and shall be included in the unit price bid. The Contractor shall be responsible for cleaning the job site and removing all residue from SJCSD properties. The Contractor is responsible for removal of all forms and disposal off site. All rocks, woods, nails, concrete debris, etc. shall be removed and disposed of off site. Gaps shall be filled with clean dirt. Areas around sidewalks shall be graded to match existing grade. Grade shall not be lower than 4" from the top of the new sidewalks. 6.10 Contractor's employees must sign in (upon arrival) and out (upon departure) at the main office of the school or facility. 6.11 Contractor shall see that every employee on the Contractor's work force is provided an identification badge and shall ensure that all employees wear their badges on the outside of their uniform at all times when on SJCSD premises. The Contractor shall require employees to be dressed in their work attire identifying the company that they work for when reporting for duty. Employees shall be required to dress neatly, commensurate with the tasks being performed.
