Microsurfacing

Site work and paving for a road / highway in Clinton, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.This project will address the surface to 9730 LF of roads in town across 7 different corridors. In total we will apply a single pass of type 2 (24 LB/SY) Micro surface to nearly 27455 SY. The widths of the roads vary from corridor to corridor and also from block to block. The project will also include Traffic control and utility covers to protect existing infrastructure. The list of roads is as follows: Buell Avenue - North 5th Street North 10th Street Oakhurst Drive - North 3rd Street Breezy Point Drive Woodland Drive - Oakhurst Drive the PCC street Iowa Avenue - 22nd Place 19th Place 22nd Place - Harrison Drive Iowa Avenue 21st Place -Camanche Avenue Iowa Avenue 19th Place - 15th Avenue South Iowa Avenue Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the City of Clinton, Iowa on the proposed Contract Documents (plans, specifications, and form of contract) and estimated total cost for the "Microsurfacing - RE-BID, Project H-2022" at the City Council meeting at 5:00 p.m. on the 10th day of May, 2022, in said City Council Chambers, 611 South Third Street, Clinton, Iowa. The above work shall be commenced as soon as possible after the contract and bond have been approved by the City Attorney and have been signed by the Mayor and City Clerk. The notice to proceed for this project shall be issued on or before July 1, 2022. The substantial completion date is October 15, 2022. All seeding and punch-list items shall be completed by October 31, 2022. Liquidated damages shall be per Special Conditions. Each Bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of Contract a corporate Surety Bond, in a form acceptable to the City of Clinton, for the faithful performance of the Contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. The Bidder's security shall be in the amount fixed in the Instructions to Bidders and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a Bid Bond on the form provided in the Contract Documents with corporate Surety satisfactory to the City of Clinton. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. The City of Clinton does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
