Corson Riverwoods County Park Project

**As of August 25,2022, project was awarded to Niblock Excavating, awarded amount is $449,553.10.** Proposals shall be properly and completely executed on proposal forms furnished by the County in accordance with Indiana Form 96 and shall be accompanied by the Contractor's Financial Statement form taken from Form 96 for any proposal of $5,000 or more. The Contractor shall submit an itemized proposal of the approximate quantities and components of labor and materials to complete the contract. Said proposal shall be upon the standard bid sheets used by the Elkhart County Park and Recreation Board, and said sheet must contain an authorized signature of the Contractor, or the bid of the Contractor may, at the discretion of the Elkhart County Park and Recreation Board, be rejected and declared invalid. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a non-collusion affidavit as required by the Statutes of Indiana and included on Form 96. Bids shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope, bearing the title of the project and name and address of bidder. A current Contractor's Financial Statement taken from Form 96 may be placed on file with the Elkhart County Park and Recreation Board annually in lieu of executing these documents for each project. Delays in completion beyond that date shall result in liquidated damages levied against the Contractor by the Elkhart County Park and Recreation Board. The damage charges shall be $100 per day beyond the above stated date. No bids shall be withdrawn after the opening of the bids without the consent of the Elkhart County Park and Recreation Board for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled time of closing. Said work shall be subject to all the provisions of the plans and specifications therefore herein above referred to including the completion date thereof and penalty clause as therein set forth. Land and Water Conservation Fund monies will be used to assist in the park development, and all relevant requirements apply. The Elkhart County Park and Recreation Board reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. PROJECT SUMMARY AND LOCATION The Elkhart County Park and Recreation Board is developing a new County Park called Corson Riverwoods on an 80-acre site. Work within the floodway of the Little Elkhart River involves the construction of 5,714 feet of 10' wide aggregate trail. The aggregate trail will be constructed at the existing grade. There will be the construction of approximately 950' of paved drive and parking area starting and ending at the corner of County Road 37 and 2. This aggregate path and paved drive will be constructed at the existing grade. The project will be located entirely in Middlebury Township (T-37-N, R-7-E) and will impact sections 3, 4, and 34 in Elkhart County, Indiana. The project center is approximately located at a latitude of 41.6962o North and a longitude of 85.7135o West.
