Asbestos Abatement

The Woods County Courthouse anticipates a project to remove asbestos from several areas within the courthouse building associated with the supply and return lines from the abandoned boiler system, domestic water supply and HVAC duct insulation. This work will require the removal to be completed in several phases with minimal disruption to the building occupants. Basement Boiler Room: All HVAC duct work, boiler insulation and water line insulation will be removed from this area. Estimated amounts are 304 square foot of boiler material, approximately 360 linear feet of pipe insulation and approximately 580 asbestos duct tape. Basement Storage Area: All the pipe insulation in this area is to be removed. Any HVAC duct insulation will remain in place. There is an estimated 11 72 linear feet of material in this area. First Floor: Abatement of this floor will include removal of all domestic water pipe insulation (-756 linear feet), remove approximately 100 linear feet of steam line insulation and 160 linear feet of HVAC duct insulation. Second Floor: Removal of-70 linear feet of pipe TSI from various areas on this floor. Third Floor: Approximately 60 linear feet of TSI from this area. Note: This area serves as the county jail facility. The county will need to displace the prisoners during all abatement activities. Therefore, the abatement in this area will need to be completed as quickly as possible.
