Description | 2022-2 Community Crossings Paving Program Application #12085 - DES #2100193, located in the Town of Hillsboro, Fountain County, Indiana. 2022-2 CCMG Paving and associated work items of various streets throughout the Town of Hillsboro. substantially complete by October 13th, 2023. Final completion shall be October 27th, 2023 Any questions shall be directed to Josh Grabijas of HWC Engineering by email only at jgrabijas@hwcengineering.com. The deadline for questions is Thursday, February 23rd at 10:00 am. Work to include: 1. For Sub-Project B, Perform shoulder grading throughout the project limits along both edges of roadway. All scope details described below and the cost of any other associated items such as the requiredexcavation/grading, legal disposal, and BMP's shall be considered incidental to the pay items provided in the Schedule of Values. Coordinate operations with Engineer and Owner. a. Straight-line edges of roadway to better define traveled way and expose full limits of existing roadway. b. Lower earth shoulders to ensure stormwater drains off of roadway after proposed paving is completed. c. Properly clean roadway and legally dispose of any excavated materials, debris, etc. 2. For Sub-Projects A, C, and D, Perform machine milling at a minimum depth of 1.5 inches in accordance with INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 306. An estimated quantity of milling has been included in the Schedule of Values. Coordinate operations and limits with Engineer and Owner. a. Paving limits shall be the full width of identified street from the specified beginning termini to the specified ending termini (See Schedule of Values and Project Location Map for identified streets and project termini). b. All approaches (driveways, commercial approaches, or intersecting public road approaches), as indicated on the corresponding aerial plan sheets or otherwise as exists at time of construction, and any other terminal points as necessary, are to be milled accordingly to provide an acceptable transition. c. Associated costs for incidental tasks such as sawcutting, that may be required for clean suitable joints, shall be incidental to the cost of the Milling, Asphalt, 1.5 in. pay item. 3. For Sub Project B, Perform machine milling to properly transition the HMA overlay with the existing conditions in accordance with INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 306. An estimated quantity of milling has been included in the Schedule of Values. Coordinate operations and transition limits with Engineer and Owner. a. Paving limits shall be the full width of identified street from the specified beginning termini to the specified ending termini (See Schedule of Values and Project Location Map for identified streets and project termini). b. All approaches (driveways, commercial approaches, or intersecting public road approaches) are to be milled accordingly to provide an acceptable transition. c. At locations where existing C&G is present, transition milling is to be performed to avoid overlaying the gutter. d. Associated costs for incidental tasks such as sawcutting that may be required for clean suitable joints, shall be incidental to the cost of the Milling, Transition pay item. 4. Deliver millings to Owner and mechanically clean pavement prior to paving. 5. Confirm patching locations and depths with the Engineer and Owner and complete in accordance with INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 304. Perform HMA patching consisting of a 4" minimum depth of HMA 25mm Base Type B as shown on the typical patching detail above. Estimated quantities have been provided in the Schedule of Values. a. Excavated patch areas are to be thoroughly cleaned of any loose debris and then asphalt for tack coat applied to all surfaces prior to being filled with HMA. 6. For Sub Projects B and C, Furnish and apply Tack Coat (minimum rate of 0.08 gal/syd) according to INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 406. 7. For Sub Projects B and C, Furnish and place HMA Wedge and Level, Type B according to INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 402 to build structure and ensure stormwater drainage of street segment. a. The Wedge and Level, Type B shall be placed on top of the existing pavement to allow the new HMA buildup to have grades that ensure proper drainage. Tack Coat is required between existing surface and new HMA Wedge and Level, Type B as well as between the Wedge and Level, Type B and the HMA 9.5mm Surface, Type B (See Note 4). 8. Furnish and apply Tack Coat (minimum rate of 0.08 gal/syd) according to INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 406. CS-3 9. Furnish and place 1.5" of compacted depth HMA 9.5mm Surface Type B according to INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 402. This pay item will also be used as HMA surface at public road approaches, as shown on corresponding aerial plan sheets, furnished and placed in accordance with INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 610. a. The HMA 9.5mm Surface Type B shall be placed on top of the existing pavement. Tack Coat is required between existing surface and new HMA 9.5mm Surface, Type B (See Note 8). b. All public approaches and drives are to be milled, or graded as needed for aggregate approaches, accordingly, to provide an acceptable transition. c. All intersecting public road approaches are to be paved a minimum of 20' from the edge of mainline pavement, regardless of transitioning required, unless otherwise noted. d. All intersecting drives are to be paved a minimum of 12' from the edge of mainline pavement, regardless of transitioning required, unless otherwise noted. e. A minimum depth of 165 #/syd is required for HMA transition areas. 10. Curb, Concrete, is to be installed, and shall be according to Standard Specifications, Section 605. Curb, Concrete removal is considered incidental to this pay item. a. Wherever curb is installed, the potential void remaining between the newly placed curb and theadjacent pavement is to be properly filled with Class A concrete. This void should be excavated to the depth of the curb or the existing pavement, whichever is greater, and thoroughly cleaned of any loose debris prior to filling. The Class A concrete shall be properly vibrated and placed to within 1.5" of the existing pavement surface. The remaining 1.5" shall then be paved with HMA Surface prior to the HMA overlay. All associated costs to accomplish this shall be included in the cost of the Curb, Concrete Pay Items. b. All required restoration work including regrading, placement of topsoil, seeding, etc., shall be considered incidental to the cost of the Curb, Concrete, Modified Pay Item. 11. Install new ADA compliant Curb Ramps with Detectable Warning surfaces as shown on corresponding aerial plan sheets, according to INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 604 and INDOT Standard Drawings. a. Although a plan view of the ramp locations may be provided, no detailing of the curb ramps has been performed. The Contractor is responsible for ensuring all aspects, such as elevations, dimensions, and slopes of curb ramps, including detectable warning placement, conform to the INDOT standards. Any ramps and adjacent curb/gutter not conforming to standards shall be removed and replaced at the Contractor's expense. b. All associated costs to construct sidewalks and ramps, including but not limited to concrete removal, excavation, subgrade preparation, forming, pouring, finishing, and surrounding restoration work, including regrading, placement of topsoil, and seeding, shall be considered incidental to the cost of the Curb Ramp, Concrete Pay Item. c. Estimated quantities of sidewalk removal have been included in the Schedule of Values for existing ramps. d. An undistributed quantity of Bed Course Material has been included in the Schedule of Values, which shall be used on an as needed basis. |
