Description Renovations of street and sidewalks along the North portion of El Paso Street and Mills Avenue including Pioneer Plaza. It has been subdivided into Base Bids I & Base Bid II. Base Bid II is comprised of 4 different areas as listed below. Base Bid I: Consists on reconstruction of sidewalk on Mills Avenue between Mesa Street and Oregon Avenue, replace existing brick pavers with new (brick pavers +3” concrete substrate) and thin brick pavers over existing basements (no work to do under basements), remove one traffic lane on the eastbound of Mills Avenue and replace with landscaping, curb and gutter. Add trees in the parkway with LED lights to match SJ Plaza, reconstruct HC ramps with truncated domes tiles and non-lit bollards, new tree grates and two parklets including benches, tables and trash cans. Extension of existing storm sewer inlet (approx. 12’-0” of extension). Paint existing street poles. Base Bid II: Hotel Promenade & Parking Garage Promenade Consists of improvements of eastside sidewalk of El Paso Street between San Antonio Avenue and Pioneer Plaza and parkway improvements on Mills Avenue and Oregon Street fronting Paso Del Norte Hotel. Construction activities include removing and reconstruction of portions of sidewalks, handicap ramps, landscaping, paving markings, benches, trash cans, signs, power poles, tree lights, cross walks. Landscaping to be added in the island of the roundabout, foundation for a future art component.
