Description

The submission of a bid shall be conclusive evidence that the Bidder has investigated the site and is thoroughly satisfied as to the conditions to be encountered, as to the character, quality, and scope of the work to be performed; the quantity of materials to be furnished; and as to all the requirements of these specifications. SCOPE OF WORK. The Contractor shall perform all of the work and furnish all labor, materials, equipment and transportation necessary for CITYWIDE ROAD SURFACE REPAIR PROJECT, PHASE 5 (35C1553). Work is to be as set out in the Plans and Specifications attached hereto as Exhibit A and as on file in the Office of the City Engineer, and as in the Contractor's Proposal attached hereto as Exhibit B, dated. The work to be done consists of furnishing all labor, materials, methods and processes, implements, tools, equipment, incidentals and machinery except as otherwise specified, which are necessary and required to complete the contract in a satisfactory and workmanlike manner. The intent of the plans and specifications is to prescribe the details for the construction and completion of the work which the Contractor undertakes to perform in accordance with the terms of the contract. Where the plans or specifications describe portions of the work in general terms, but not in complete detail, it is understood that only the best general practice is to prevail and that only materials and workmanship of the best quality are to be used. n general, the work consists of, but is not limited to, pavement spot repair of approximately 266,193 SF, crack sealing, placing of approximately 1,017,463 SF of Type II slurry seal, associated striping removal and replacement, refreshing of existing painted street markings, traffic control, and installation of necessary environmental pollution prevention requirements on various streets in the City of Monterey. Question Submission Deadline:August 23, 2023, 5:00pm Question Response Deadline: August 25, 2023, 5:00pm All questions must be submitted in writing through the OpenGov Procurement An original certified check or cashier's check payable to the order of the City of Monterey, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid amount shall be uploaded with each bid, as a guarantee that the bidder we anticipate going to City Council on October 3, 2023 to Award the contract
