Description | This is a notice that a solicitation is anticipated to be forth coming and will have all the necessary documents, including scope of work. IAW FAR 36.204(d) the rough order of magnitude is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Performance and Payment Bonds are required. The Rock Island Arsenal Museum intends to display a recently acquired historic Mark VIII tank at the northwest corner of Rodman Avenue and Gillespie street in the lawn of Building 360. Per the requirements for display of exterior artifacts, the tank needs to be covered. This project will provide a concrete pad and metal shelter where the tank will be displayed. The 46' by 26' pad will consist of an 8" thick reinforced concrete slab with a 12" thickened edge and include a 6' wide exposed aggregate walk around perimeter. The canopy of the shelter will be 50' by 26'-8" low pitch gable roof supported on tube steel columns. At its tallest point the structure will be approximately 16'-6" above the concrete pad. The shelter manufacturer's structural engineers will design the shelter structure and concrete foundation piers. Two lights will be installed between the tank and the northwest corner of Rodman Avenue and Gillespie Street to illuminate the tank. Grade at the proposed shelter location is lower than adjacent sidewalks. In order to create positive drainage, the top of the concrete pad will be elevated above the adjacent sidewalks and drain tile will b e installed to mitigate water collection around the perimeter of the shelter. The Contractor will provide excavation, fill and tree removal (including stump grinding). The concrete work will include sidewalks from the pad out to Rodman Avenue and Gillespie Street. The tank will be place on the completed concrete pad by others prior to installation of the canopy. The Contractor will be required to execute the work in two phases before and after the placement of the tank. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
