| Description | These specifications cover all work, labor, and furnishing all materials to load test and provide annual inspection of the piggyback crane at Meldahl Locks and Dam. The crane is rated at 6 Tons and sets on top of the bulkhead crane on the Dam. The Contractor shall provide all water bags, calibrated flow meter measuring device, certification of verified load on day of testing, rigging, and all materials to load test the crane to 6 tons. The Government will supply the water. The Contractor shall supply the operator and rigger and is responsible for all lifts. All work shall conform to all applicable standards EM-385-1-1, OSHA, ASME publications, and manufacturer’s specific instructions as per the specific load handling equipment. The Contractor shall also inspect the piggyback crane, components, and wire rope and provide the annual inspection certificate in accordance with EM-385-1-1, OSHA, and ASME publications. At the conclusion of the load test and annual inspection, the piggyback crane shall be certified for safe operation. |
