Chimney Repair

This project involves the repair on eight-sided chimney with a current height of 204’ - 4”. Generally, the top third of the stack is in need of brick being tuck pointed and some brick replacement. The work will consist of tuck pointing the joints as described in the specification. The cracks in the existing chimney cap and the cap above the exterior breeching offset. Place new heat-resistant insulation to fill existing gaps at breeching where required. Recoat the existing breeching, cleanout door and frame. The existing masonry shall be repaired or replaced as necessary. The steel tension bands shall be cleaned, repaired, caulked and recoated. The existing ladder, exterior platform, handrails, grating, and supporting frame shall be cleaned and recoated. A new lightning protection downlead shall replace the existing downlead on the west side of the chimney. A Siloxane Waterproofing coating shall be applied to the entire stack. The interior of the chimney shall 19 be inspected as describe in the specifications.
