Description | The work generally consists of repairs to the facility due to damage sustained from a March 11,2019 riot that occurred at Maui Community Correctional Center (MCCC). Project scope includes security infrastructure improvements and life safety enhancements that may help mitigate future riots from occurring or enhance response to emergency situations. Project scope of work within the modules includes replacement of breakaway shower curtains, HVAC system smoke arrestor exhaust fans, fire dampers, control room detention glazing, various detention doors, fire sprinkler system isolation valves, acoustic tile ceilings, and concrete spall repairs at the recreation yard floor drains. Project scope outside of the modules includes new sewer grinder/pumps within the sewer wet well and associated temporary sewer bypass, complete roof replacement, air conditioning, and ceiling repair at the gatehouse, relocation of sally port vehicle bollards, replacement of dormitory detention doors, and miscellaneous related work. Work also includes disturbance of lead containing material. The estimated construction cost is between $1 million and $2.5 million. Each Bidder shall bring their own flashlight and small tools that may be required to inspect the premises. Check with Project Coordinator.
