Description | Sealed bids will be received for the construction of City of Douglas FY22 CDBG Early Head Start/Head Start Expansion A plan holders list will be available from J. Glenn Gregory Architects 1807 North Patterson Street, Valdosta, GA 31602, (229)249-8833, fax (229)249-9002, email jggarch@bellsouth.net. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled time for receiving the bids. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount of not less than five (5) percent of the amount bid. A Contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent of the contract price will be required of the awarded contractor. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and to re-advertise. The City of Douglas is committed to Affirmatively Further Fair Housing. This project is covered under the requirements of Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968. This contract opportunity is a Section 3 Covered Contract. Section 3 Business Concerns are encouraged to apply. The City of Douglas also abides by the following laws as they pertain to HUD Assisted Projects: Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Section 109 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Title 1; Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Fair Housing Act); Section 104(b)(2) of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended; Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA); and the Architectural Barriers Act of 1968. The work covered by this section includes furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, and chemicals required to disinfect all potable water lines in accordance with the procedures specified herein. B. Upon completion of the construction and installation of equipment, the Contractor shall sterilize all plant units, piping, pumps and connections thereto, all distribution system piping and storage tanks and any surfaces that shall be in contact with potable water. |
