Description | The Project shall make improvements to a vacant site owned by the City of Loretto. Improvements shall include the construction of a new clock tower with brick veneer, plaza, brick seatwalls, unit pavers, concrete, irrigation, landscape, electrical distribution and fixtures. All Bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a bid bond or a certified check of a value not less than 5% of the submitted Base Bid. A separate 100% Payment Bond and a 100% Performance Bond shall be submitted by the selected bidder. All bonds shall be executed by a surety company authorized to do so in the State of Kentucky. The cost for all Bonds shall be included in the respective Base Bid and Alternate #1 and Alternate #2 lump sum pricing. The Project Schedule requires Final Completion of the project in a total of 150 calendar days, 120 days to Substantial Completion, plus 30 days to Final Completion. Liquidated damages will be assessed at a rate of $100 / day for both Substantial Completion and Final Completion if the completion date is not met. Note there shall be provisions for documented weather days per the requirements of the Special Conditions. It is anticipated that there may be some lead times associated with the manufacture of the Clock Tower and potentially electrical components; the Owner will allow for legitimate material delays provided appropriate documentation from the manufacturer is provided.
