Description | The project generally consists of: granite curbing, paver crosswalks, ADA ramps, concrete sidewalks, light poles, and associated underground conduit. Submit all questions in writing, no later than 5 business days prior to bid opening, to the attention of: Craig Chekan @ (207) 571-0636, e-mail: craig.chekan@biddefordmaine.org. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Biddeford or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company in an amount equal to five (5%) of the Total Bid Price for the contract shall be submitted with the bid. No bids may be withdrawn within sixty (60) calendar days of the bid opening unless released by the Owner. The City of Biddeford reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies, to accept any Bid that it may deem to be in the best interest of the City of Biddeford, to negotiate the contract price with any Bidder, and to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the interest of the City of Biddeford. Construction for the project shall begin March 4 th , 2024; an awarded contractor may request an earlier construction start date pending an acceptable construction schedule & traffic control plan by all owners. Substantial completion for all work associated with the project shall be completed by July 12th, 2024. Full completion of all work associated with the project shall be completed by July 26th, 2024. A portion of the project will be funded by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), thus requiring the contractor to abide by Federal labor standard provisions (i.e. Davis-Bacon). |
