Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Building - Relocate Part of HHP to 1st Floor North Wing

Targeted Small Business (TSB): The certified Iowa TSB participation goal for this project is 10 percent (10%) of the Base Bid. This establishes the amount that should be reported on the Final Payment Reporting Form as part of the TSB Program. Project Location: Work shall be performed under this Contract on the campus of the University of Iowa at Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Building, 115 S. Grand Ave. b. The Constructor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment necessary for, and incidental to, construction of this project as indicated on Drawings dated November 30, 2022. c. Work shall include everything requisite and necessary to finish work properly, notwithstanding that not every item of labor or materials or accessories required to make project complete may be specifically mentioned. d. General Description of Work: 1) Project consists of renovating portions of the first floor of the Pharmaceutical Science Research Building (the old Pharmacy Building). Work will only occur in the existing 3-story 1961 building (Health Sciences Wing); there is no scope of work within the 1996 5-story South Tower. a) The architectural scope of work consists of demolition and construction activities to renovate the existing offices and classroom spaces into a new open office, classroom, or lab space. Work will include, vinyl and carpeted flooring, acoustical ceiling panels, an interior door and hardware, and interior painting of existing walls and existing doors and frames in select areas. Work is limited to interior finish replacement and minor repair work. b) The mechanical/plumbing scope of work consists of repairs to existing thermostats, the installation of emergency eye wash stations, and the installation of supply lines, drain lines, and exhaust fan/ductwork for a washer and dryer. c) The electrical scope of work consists of modifications of the existing power and fire alarm systems to accommodate the new office functions plus the addition or reconfiguration of power connections for new furniture systems. d) The technology scope of work consists of installation of new/reconfiguration of existing data infrastructure for new furniture systems. Cabling will be by UI ITS.
