Description | The project will relocate and replace existing Pump Station 14 located in East Bremerton, WA. The new pump station will include two vertical turbine pumps with variable frequency drives (VFDs), an interior standby generator, provisions for secondary chlorination and a public ADA accessible bathroom. An approximately 800 square foot pump station building will be constructed of concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls with a concrete slabon-grade floor. Additional onsite improvements will consist of new asphalt pavement, two stormwater bioretention areas and approximately 600 linear feet of new 8-inch ductile iron water main. ESTIMATE: $2,300,000 - $2,400,000 PRECONSTRUCTION WORK PHASE: The preconstruction work phase is 90 calendar days following the Limited Notice to Proceed. The Limited Notice to Proceed is expected to be issued the first week of December 2022. COMPLETION OF WORK: The Substantial Completion date is 450 calendar days following the Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed is expected to be issued the first week of March 2023. BID SECURITY: Each bid proposal shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashiers check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. The failure to furnish a bid deposit of a minimum of five percent shall make the bid nonresponsive and shall cause the bid to be rejected by the Contracting Agency. PERFORMANCE BOND: The successful bidder will also be required to provide a Performance Bond for 100 percent of the Contract Price. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Bremerton. Contractor shall file a Statement of Intent to Pay Prevailing Wages with the State of Washington Department of Labor & Industries prior to commencing the Contract work. Contractor shall pay prevailing wages and comply with Chapter 39.12 of the Revised Code of Washington, as well as any other applicable prevailing wage rate provisions. Contractor will be required to pay Kitsap County Prevailing Wage Rates current on the bid opening date. The Kitsap County prevailing wage rates are available at the Dept. of Labor and Industries website. The City of Bremerton reserves the right to reject any and all bids on any or all schedules or alternates or to waive any informalities in the bidding and shall determine which bid or bidders is the most satisfactory and responsible bidder and shall be the sole judge thereof *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
