Description | Scrape loose paint from exterior of houses and program building. Prepare the exterior of houses and program building for painting including repairs. Contract term: 1 year Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Summary of Work: Preparing and Painting Exterior of Buildings 220, 224 and 225. DESCRIPTION: The Vendor shall provide all labor and materials necessary to complete the work in a professional manner according to scope of work. Work is to be completed within 30 days of receiving an authorized Purchase Order, unless modified below. This is a NYS Public Works project and prevailing wages are to be paid and Certified Payrolls must be submitted at time of completion. Site must be clean, and all materials secured at the end of each workday. Absolutely no scraps, especially fasteners, are to be left unsecured. Upon completion of work, but before removal of equipment, contractor is to schedule a quality control and quality assurance inspection with point of contact and project supervisor Max Gerstenberger. SCOPE OF WORK includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: 1. Scrape loose paint from exterior of houses and Program Building. 2. Prepare the exterior of houses and Program Building for painting including repairs. 3. Paint exterior of houses and Program Building, first with primer and then 2 coats of exterior paint. Color to be decided by OPWDD staff. 4. All work is to be performed by OSHA standards. 5. All paint debris must be cleaned up by Contractor 6. A site visit is Mandatory. 7. Project is in a secure area; escort will be provided by DDSO. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Proposal price is to include all materials, labor, disposal of materials, fees, and site clean-up. Final acceptance of completed job will be provided by the appropriate Maintenance Supervisor. 2. Work is to be done between the hours of 8am and 4pm, Monday through Friday. Contractor is advised that this is an occupied home and may be occupied during these times. All tools must always be controlled, and debris, tools, and materials secured and stored at the end of each workday. 4. Any unforeseen conditions that may alter the established price are to be reported to the Plant Superintendent listed above immediately upon discovery. 5. Smoking is prohibited by contractors at all residential and program sites owned by OPWDD. 6. Prior to the commencement of the work, there shall be a meeting with OPWDD Operations and Maintenance staff, and Safety Department to discuss specific safety requirements needed to be adhered to during the work period. 7. Safety Data Sheets as applicable will be provided to the Plant Superintendent prior to the start of work and a copy maintained at the property. 8. All applicable environmental testing associated with this work will be provided to the contractor prior to start of work, if necessary. 9. Contractor must be able to provide Certificate of Liability insurance, $1 million/$2 million aggregate. Workers Comp Insurance, NYS Disability Insurance with Certificate Holders as: OPWDD/Sunmount DDSO, 2445 State Route 30, Tupper Lake, NY 12986 PART 2 - The work required for this project, Exterior Painting of two houses and a Program Building in RIT 1, consists of the inspection of all areas identified at the suggested site visit. It is the intent of this project to have all previously painted surfaces properly prepared prior to painting. Painting over un-sanded, blistered, or peeling paint will not be accepted. Corrective action shall be done at the sole expense of the contractor. The contractor shall repair in kind all walls and surfaces prior to painting. The contractor shall furnish all necessary materials and labor required to paint the interior/ exterior of the structure including walls, railings, windows, trim, doors and frames. The contractor shall install painters' tape as needed to protect adjacent surfaces and provide tarps for walkway and area protection. All fire and safety devices (smoke/heat detectors, strobes/annunciators, sprinkler heads and their escutcheons, etc.) shall be protected from paint. The interior/exterior painting as indicated in this scope shall be scheduled to not interfere with the activities of the individuals and staff at this location |
