McKinley Woods Preserve Bridge Over the I and M Canal Improvements

The project location is within McKinley woods Forest Preserve, Kerry Sheridan Grove on the entrance road into the preserve. The location is east of Blackberry Lane approximately 2,900 feet south of Bridge Street in Channahon, Will County, IL. This project generally includes earth excavation, removal and replacement of some asphalt, subgrade improvement, concrete removal and replacement, drain inlet reconstruction, joint sealing, and some structural repair of concrete. The bridge is made up of three separate types of structures; a single span bridge over the canal, a pre-cast concrete three-sided tunnel for the pedestrian trail, and mechanically stabilized retaining walls along both sides of east approach the roadway.
