Description | The City of Sioux Falls, SD, requests formal bids for Furnish and Apply Epoxy Pavement Markings for Stop Bars and Arrows. The City of Sioux Falls reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, and make award(s) as deemed to be in the best interest of Sioux Falls, SD. This work shall consist of furnishing and applying pavement marking materials for parking stalls, stop bars, lane use arrows, pedestrian crosswalks, and bike symbols on various city streets. The Contractor will use Epoplex LS-65 Epoxy Paint or an approved equal for the entire project. Prior to opening a lane of traffic to the public, all excess beads shall be removed. Surface Preparation for installation of Epoxy Paint shall include grinding of pavement to between 20 and 30 mils below pavement surface and removal of existing pavement marking. The Contractor shall also clean up, remove, and dispose of any material that has been ground off during surface preparation. The Contractor shall record the date the pavement markings were installed on each plan sheet furnished by the City of Sioux Falls. If needed, the City of Sioux Falls will provide the Contractor with a paper stencil of the bike symbols so that a form can be made for the application of these markings. The Contractor will encounter two sizes of lane use arrows, standard highway size and smaller urban area size. The contractor shall install the appropriate size arrow based on what is currently at that location. |
