Description

This project involves a base bid and alternate bids for the design and construction of ADA/PennDOT compliant curb ramps, with all necessary sidewalks, curbing, and sign relocation/installation at specified locations within Bristol Borough. The design and all material, labor, and equipment necessary shall be in accordance with PennDOT Publication 408 and Borough Standards.. A nominal fee of 0.0033% of the bid amount (up to $5,000.00) is assessed only to bidders who are awarded contracts. For bidders who are not the winning bid; there are absolutely no fees. Clarification Deadline: 5/10/2022 11:00 AM The work to be performed under this Agreement is a project assisted under a program providing direct Federal financial assistance from HUD and its subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended (12 U.S.C. 1702). Section 3 requires that to the greatest extent feasible opportunities for training and employment be given to low-and very low-income residents of the project area, and that contracts for work in connection with the project be awarded to business concerns that provide economic opportunities for low- and very low-income persons residing in the metropolitan area in which the project is located. The Bidder's attention is called to the fact that the project is receiving funds under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, and that the Davis-Bacon Act applies to this Contract and the successful Bidder shall pay no less than the Federal Wage Rates determined for the project area as set forth in the Contract Documents. The successful Bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The completion of all CDBG Non-Discrimination Documents must also be submitted at the time of the bid. This project is subject to applicable requirements of the Borough's Responsible Contractor Ordinance for work valued at over Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00). This project is subject to applicable provisions of Act 127, Pennsylvania Public Works Employment Verification, as amended. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of the bids. The Borough of Bristol reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or parts thereof, and to accept the bid, which it deems, in its sole judgment, to be in the best interest of the Borough.
