Description | The Town of Great Barrington, acting through its Department of Public Works, invites sealed bids from contractors approved by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for the Great Barrington Paving and Related Work -- 2023 Phase One project. The work to be performed includes installation of stress absorbing membrane, roadway shimming & paving, and structure work on various streets and related work. Alternate work includes replacement of existing concrete sidewalk Substantial completion of work shall be no later than June 2, 2023. Only prospective bidders who are prequalified for this project by MassDOT will be entitled to bid on this project. The estimated project value is $344,410 (base bid plus alternate). Prospective bidders should only submit a bid that is within the limit which they are prequalified for by MassDOT. Bids submitted that exceed the contractor's qualified limit per MassDOT will not be accepted. The work under this contract shall be subject to the provisions of Chapter 30, Section 39M of the Massachusetts General Laws. Wages are subject to Massachusetts's minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D, inclusive. All applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and rules shall be observed. The Town of Great Barrington reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, to waive any informality in the bids received, and to accept the bid deemed to be most favorable to the best interest of the Town. The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and not withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days, Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays excluded, after the date of opening the bids. |
