Description | This project consists of new construction building and related sitework around a fully operational Museum and Nature Center open to the public 363 days a year. The project includes a Planetarium area, Observatory Space, classroom spaces (indoor and outdoor), concession and merchandise shops, Exhibit display, offices and auxiliary rooms in support of the building operation (restrooms, mech rooms, elevator and stairs). Sitework includes earthwork related to new building construction, septic system, storm water system, water lines (domestic and fire), electrical and teledata. Site improvements include walking paths, seating walls, fire pit, access road with parking and outdoor gathering areas. All areas shall comply with current building, fire, mechanical, plumbing, energy and accessibility codes. Selective trades are required to comply with LEED standards as specified in the Project Manual As of November 6 , 2023, the construction manager at risk has released the project for bidding. A bid bond for five percent (5%) of the base bid cost is required and must accompany each proposal for contracts exceeding $50,000. Bids must be held firm for one hundred twenty (120) days beyond the bid opening date. The successful bidder must file a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond for any contracts exceeding $50,000 The successful bidder must file a one hundred percent (100%) Labor & Materials Bond any contracts exceeding $100,000 and a Certificate of Insurance to provide and maintain insurance coverage for the entire duration of the project as noted. including Owner (SM&NC), A.P. Construction (CMR), TSKP (Architect), Construction Consulting Group (Owner's Rep), City of Stamford and State of Connecticut with A.P. Construction (CMR) within ten (10) days of notice of bid award.
