Description

The environmental monitoring and assessment for Cypress Creek, J.B. Starkey, Morris Bridge and Northwest Hillsborough wellfields are four separate projects. These wellfields are part of Tampa Bay Water's Central System and are water supply facilities permitted by the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) under the Consolidated Water Use Permit (CWUP, No. 2011771.02). The purpose of the ecological monitoring and assessment projects is to monitor and provide an analysis of the hydrological and ecological condition of the project areas and surrounding areas in relation to potential environmental perturbations that could occur naturally (e.g., climate events, abiotic and biotic disturbances) or from human activity (e.g., wellfield production, regional development, drainage effects). The goal of the project is to maintain compliance with all of the applicable requirements of the CWUP.
