Description

This project has 2 primary parts: work on the channel, and storm sewer bypass. The first is the installation of a new larger outfall at Harry Wurzbach, new larger box culverts at street crossings, reconstruction and deepening of the existing channel, installation of Flex-a-mat (or approved equal) channel armoring, seeding of channel ROW under Flex-a-mat or top of bank channel access, installation of channel access ramps and gates, installation of concrete rip-rap where other channel armor is impractical, and remove fences encroaching on the channel ROW. The second part is the installation of part of a storm sewer by-pass system to divert a portion of the storm flow around a narrow part of the channel. Joint bid utilities including water, sewer, and gas will be upgraded/relocated in and around the outfall, street crossings, and storm sewer by-pass. Sewer crossings will also be reconstructed at several channel crossings to allow for a deepening of the channel.
