Description | The work to be completed on this project consists of (but is not limited to) providing all plant, labor and materials to complete the following major descriptive items: 1. The contractor shall perform Herbicide Spraying Services, for the Maine Air National Guard, Bangor and South Portland, Maine in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, instructions, commercial practices and as described in the Statement of Work (SOW) with focus on safety, sanitation and customer service. The contractor is encouraged and expected to use innovative approaches to effectively and efficiently accomplish this SOW in a timely manner at a reasonable cost, and in a way that fosters pride and ownership in the way the work is performed. 2. No spraying will be accomplished regardless of awarded contract start date, until vegetation leaves have formed, but prior to the plant growth exceeding 4" in height so as to eliminate manual hand cutting of plant life, and to maximize the amount of chemicals absorbed by plant life. Contractor should plan on two sprayings a year, one in May when plants get to the description above, and again at the beginning of August as the Glyophosphate does not last the required 5-month stretch. The contractor will be responsible for monitoring vegetation growth and will not allow it to grow above 4" max before re-spraying, must be re-accomplished as many times as it takes between the first spray (where vegetation has not reached 4") to 30 September. Contractor will be required/responsible to manually remove and dispose of any dead vegetation exceeding 8" in height. | ||||
