Description | As of August 16th, 2022 this project will begin in the next few weeks. The Impact and Prosperity Epicenter at the University of Utah will be a new multidisciplinary hub for social impact, community engagement, and enterprise, empowering social entrepreneurs and organizations. The facility will foster a growing network of social impact practitioners acting as a nerve center that equips them with the knowledge, experience, and vision required to change the world. The facility brings the Sorenson Impact Center and the Business, Health, and Prosperity Center together under one roof, providing unique opportunities to support each other in their shared mission to change thought, improve practice, and enrich the lives of students, faculty, and partners. The housing component of the building, while applying configurations typical on campus, sustains a different potential than the typical campus housing. It is a key component in the interchange between living and working, doing, and learning. Given the schedule, complexity and quality expectations of the project, the project team desires to engage with a number of Design/Assist Subcontractors including Mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing), and Electrical. The Owner of this project along with MHTN Architects and Okland Construction, have begun planning and design for this new facility. It is expected that the Design Assist Subcontractor will provide comprehensive construction and administrative services to successfully meet the needs of the project and initiatives of the U of U leadership groups. |
