Description

The Project consists of a single general contract for restoration work on the Central Parking Structure as indicated and/or specified in the Contract Documents. Bid security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders must be submitted with each Bid. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of 45 days after the actual date of opening thereof. This time period may be extended by mutual agreement of the Owner and any Bidder or Bidders. Bidders should direct questions and correspondence to the Fishbeck Project Manager. Bid security made payable to the Owner shall be in an amount of at least 5 % of the Bidder's base Bid price, and shall be in the form of an original certified or bank check or a Bid bond on AIA Document A310, issued by a surety authorized to transact business in Michigan and named in the current list of "Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies" as published by the Financial Management Service, Surety Bond Branch, U.S. Department of the Treasury (Circular 570 as amended) Facsimile, telegraphic or other electronically transmitted Bid bonds submitted with the Bid will be considered provided that, within 48 hours after the time for receipt of Bids, the Bid bond form with the original signature, seal and original required attachments are received by the Owner. The Contractor, before commencing the Work, shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond. The Performance Bond shall be in an amount equal to (100) percent of the full amount of the Contract Sum as security for the faithful performance of the obligations of the Contract Documents, and the Labor and Material Payment Bond shall be in an amount equal to (100) percent of the full amount of the Contract Sum as Security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furnishing materials in connection with the Contract Documents. Such bond shall be on AIA Document A-312, issued by the American Institute of Architects, shall be issued by a Surety satisfactory to the Owner, shall name the Owner as a primary co-obligee, and shall be licensed in the State in which the project is located. The Owner reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any and all Bids. The Owner also reserves the right to delete any item or portion of the work.
