Description | CONTRACT NO. 1 - HVAC CONSTRUCTION For the Trolleyworks HVAC Replacement Project with the bid opening to occur immediately thereafter. Work includes removal and replacement of three split system air conditioning systems, gas fired duct furnaces and associated system controls and ceiling mounted G/R/D s in the Trolleyworks Building. The contract documents may be examined at the AMTRAN Administration Office, 3301 Fifth Avenue, Altoona, Pennsylvania 16602. All bids shall conform to the Contract Documents prepared by EADS Architects, Inc., 450 Aberdeen Drive, Somerset, PA 15501 Interested bidders must obtain their own set of documents from The EADS Group, Inc. to be eligible to bid the project. To access the documents, the bidder must have a valid email address and will require an internet connection. All addenda, if applicable, will be issued electronically. Checks are to be made payable to EADS Architects, Inc. All Contractors submitting a bid for this project must purchase the documents in order to be registered to receive addenda and notices. Notice is given that the project for which construction bids are being solicited hereby is a project constituting public works and is subject to applicable provisions of the Federal Davis-Bacon Wage Act, as amended. Successful bidders will be required to comply with all applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations and complete all work within one hundred twenty (120) consecutive calendar days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier s check, or certified check made payable to AMTRAN in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid. No Bidder may withdraw a bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. In the event the Contract cannot be awarded within the specified period, a time extension may be granted by mutual agreement between the Owner and the selected Bidders. This contract is subject to a financial assistance contract between AMTRAN and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation. All bidders will be required to certify that they are not on the Comptroller General s list of ineligible contractors. Bidders are also advised that the Authority has established goals for the participation of minority business enterprises in the work to be performed. Contractors are encouraged to use minority business enterprises as subcontractors whenever feasible. All applicable Federal Requirements will apply. AMTRAN reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept or reject any part of any bid. The successful Bidders will be required to furnish satisfactory insurance certificates and Performance and Payment Bonds. The work is covered under one contract. The HVAC Contractor's subcontractors, as applicable, are the responsibility of the HVAC Contractor to schedule and coordinate work efforts between trades. The HVAC Contractor is responsible to prepare a construction schedule with input from subcontractors. The HVAC Contractor is to update this schedule as necessary and provide updates to Architect and subcontractors. The HVAC Contractor is to prepare the permit application and apply for the Building Permit to the City of Altoona. AMTRAN will pay the related fees assessed by the City and their code agency. Owner payment of inspection fees assumes Contractor's work is in accordance with the Project Documents, Building Permit and guidelines established by the product, material, or equipment manufacturers. Contractor is to pay inspection fees for work NOT completed in accordance with the Project Documents, Building Permit and guidelines established by Manufacturer's and/or material associations. The project will consist of removal and replacement of three split system air conditioning systems, gas fired duct furnaces and associated system controls and ceiling mounted G/R/D's. Work includes incidental electric and plumbing work which is to be completed by a Master Electrician and Master Plumber as certified by the City of Altoona |
